Kernel Developer – Remote (LatAm)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Kernel Developer to join our remote team supporting KernelCare, the live‑kernel‑patching product of CloudLinux. The role focuses on creating and maintaining security patches for Linux kernels used by thousands of hosting providers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Update existing kernels with security fixes and CVE patches in a timely manner.
• Provide support for current functionality and develop new kernel features.
• Collaborate with the automation team and, when needed, write Python or Bash scripts to test patches.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in C programming and advanced debugging abilities.
• Solid experience with Linux kernel core subsystems and a basic understanding of the kernel ABI.
• Extensive use of GDB or similar debuggers.
• Proficiency with Git for patch and branch management.
• Excellent problem‑solving, planning and communication skills in English (upper‑intermediate or higher).
• Ability to work effectively in an agile, fast‑paced environment.
