Freelance Web Developer

About the role

WPP Production is seeking a freelance Front‑End Web Developer to create and adapt responsive web pages based on visual briefs and localisation requirements. You will work closely with the senior development team, applying best‑practice coding standards to deliver multi‑language digital assets for global brands.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new digital assets and modify existing pages to meet localisation needs, including updating image paths, links, and server‑side includes.
• Produce clean, accessible markup that follows the latest W3C web standards and SEO best practices.
• Ensure fast, efficient development to meet tight deadlines across multiple languages.
• Maintain and update client digital assets, performing image slicing and optimisation for mobile devices.
• Collaborate with designers and senior developers for code reviews and mentorship.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and well‑organised.
• Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, flexible environment.

Required skills

• HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery.
• Version control systems: GIT and SVN.
• Build tools: Grunt, Gulp.
• Responsive development experience.
• Front‑End frameworks: Bootstrap, Foundation.
• Image manipulation: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks.
• Accessible and SEO‑focused coding.
• Knowledge of W3C standards and progressive enhancement.
• Experience with email newsletter builds.
• Bash shell scripting and mobile optimisation.
