Family Physician – Shared Practice Opportunity

About the role

We are seeking a Family Physician to join a collaborative, flexible primary‑care practice in Nelson, British Columbia. The position blends rural family medicine with longitudinal primary care, shared inpatient duties, and a rotating Doctor‑of‑the‑Day hospital schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary‑care services to a shared patient panel with another physician.
• Work approximately 2–3 clinic days per week, with the option to include a virtual‑care day.
• Participate in shared inpatient coverage at Kootenay Lake Hospital (1–5 inpatient days per 12‑week rotation).
• Take part in Doctor‑of‑the‑Day responsibilities on a rotating basis.
• Optionally contribute to a functional‑medicine clinic up to twice weekly.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible Family Medicine physician.
• Interest in a practice‑share environment with flexible scheduling.
• Willingness to engage in both outpatient and inpatient care.
• Openness to optional functional‑medicine practice.

Required skills

• Clinical competence in family medicine and primary care.
• Ability to deliver inpatient care and manage virtual consultations.
