Engagement Manager

About the role

Syneos Health is looking for an Engagement Manager who plans, organizes, manages and executes projects from start to finish, keeping them on time and on budget while handling several projects at once. The role supports clients (external and internal) and works closely with Center of Excellence leaders to build and run project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate the strategic intent of a project and drive process and timeline adherence across internal and external team members.
• Manage the overall budget, resource utilization, revenue tracking and forecasting, and escalate out-of-scope requests.
• Partner with Center of Excellence leaders to assemble project teams and manage team member utilization.
• Develop kick-off decks and briefs, facilitate client and internal kick-offs and status meetings, and keep clients engaged throughout the project.
• Track client requests and global changes, capture current state and next steps in weekly updates, and keep deliverables consistent.
• Use approved AI tools and large language models to streamline routine tasks, validate AI outputs for accuracy, confidentiality and compliance, and manage the client's legal, medical and regulatory review of deliverables.
• Lead risk analysis and mitigation, identify potential roadblocks and report issues to leadership.
• Keep teams motivated, coordinate with business development on account opportunities, and maintain a minimum utilization of 100% (40 hours per week) and a minimum client-billable utilization of 80% (32 hours per week).

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management; preferred: 2 years in life sciences/pharma/biotech.
• 4-year college degree required.
• Preferred: experience with approved AI tools and LLMs, and a background in training or life sciences/pharma/biotech.

Required skills

• MS Office Suite.
• Preferred: working knowledge of AI-assisted productivity tools, prompt writing, and project management software such as Smartsheet or Toggl.
