Director of Finance Operations

About the role

Residence Supply is a fast‑growing design‑driven lighting and hardware brand looking for a finance leader who can build a finance function from the ground up. The Director of Finance Operations will own the financial reporting, unit‑economics analysis and cash‑flow management for a DTC ecommerce business scaling to nine‑figures.

Key responsibilities

• Build a unified finance dashboard from Shopify, Hyros, Lifetimely and QuickBooks Online.
• Own the first‑time customer P&L, tracking gross revenue to acquisition contribution margin and aMER.
• Analyse unit economics by SKU, collection and acquisition channel.
• Project cash flow against inventory purchases.
• Manage QuickBooks Online: reconciliations, COGS allocation, landed‑cost capitalization and monthly close.
• Recruit and lead a finance team (staff accountant and AP/AR clerk) within six months.
• Oversee the U.S. CPA firm relationship for tax filing, audit preparation and multistate sales‑tax compliance.
• Present weekly financial clarity to the executive team.

Required profile

• 5+ years of finance experience at a DTC ecommerce brand with $10M+ revenue.
• Deep fluency in DTC unit economics (nCAC, aMER, contribution margin layers, LTV, payback period, churn) and ability to explain them to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Extensive experience with Shopify and QuickBooks Online; familiarity with Hyros, Lifetimely, A2X, Bookkeep, Finaloop, Settle or Drivepoint is a plus.
• Strong inventory‑accounting skills: landed cost, COGS allocation and capitalization.
• U.S. GAAP knowledge; multistate sales‑tax awareness is a major plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English for weekly leadership presentations.
