Desktop Support Technician

About the role

Parexel is looking for a Desktop Support Technician to join its IT team in Buenos Aires (Vicente Lopez). You will provide first‑level technical assistance to clinical research professionals, ensuring their devices and applications run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to user requests and incidents via the service‑desk ticketing system.
• Configure, install, and update software, laptops, workstations and mobile devices.
• Create, modify, and disable user accounts, reset passwords and manage access rights.
• Perform basic hardware repairs and replacements, such as memory and hard‑drive upgrades.
• Provide end‑user training and maintain quick‑reference documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of support activities and contribute to knowledge‑base articles.
• Assist with disaster‑recovery testing, IT asset inventory, and security updates.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in IT support or a related technical role.
• Detail‑oriented, customer‑focused and able to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Reliable, adaptable and able to work collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Willingness to learn and support colleagues with patience and empathy.

Required skills

• Laptop configuration, deployment and desktop support.
• Proficiency with Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Basic understanding of network concepts and troubleshooting.
• Experience with service‑desk ticketing systems.
• Hardware repair skills (memory, hard drives, peripherals) and routine maintenance.
