Data Engineer

About the role

Chevron Global Business Services (GBS) is looking for a Data Engineer to join its IT organization in Buenos Aires. The role focuses on designing, building and maintaining fully automated data transformation pipelines that integrate a wide range of storage and compute technologies, supporting the company’s global data architecture and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Understand business data usage and stakeholder requirements to align data solutions with strategic objectives.
• Leverage software engineering and data science techniques to ingest, prepare, and process data for analytics and advanced modeling.
• Identify, acquire, cleanse, store, and develop data products following defined architecture patterns.
• Normalize and ingest data from multiple sources, making it readily available for data scientists.
• Collaborate with ML Engineers to scale and deploy models, including documentation, training, and integration.
• Contribute to the development of foundational tools and deployment of technical services within an inner‑source environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong analytical, consulting and critical‑thinking abilities.
