Data Engineer – Azure Cloud Solutions

About the role

We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong experience building modern cloud‑based data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. The role will design, develop and optimise scalable data pipelines that enable enterprise analytics and data‑driven decision‑making for a global energy company.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
• Develop data ingestion, transformation and integration processes from multiple source systems.
• Create and maintain data models for analytics and reporting.
• Implement high‑performance data pipelines with SQL and Python.
• Support Power BI datasets and enterprise reporting solutions.
• Optimise data architecture for performance, scalability and cost.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, scientists, software engineers and business stakeholders.
• Maintain CI/CD deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps, Git and related best practices.
• Troubleshoot production data issues and perform root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong SQL and Python development skills.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
• Experience building enterprise‑scale ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Knowledge of data modelling and large‑scale data processing.
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience supporting Power BI datasets or reporting solutions.
• Advanced English proficiency.
