Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

As a Cyber Security Engineer at Sophilabs you will protect our infrastructure, applications and data by applying security best practices, modern defense tools and cloud expertise. You will work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to embed security throughout the development lifecycle and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, manage and continuously improve security controls across infrastructure, applications and networks.
• Monitor, investigate and respond to security incidents, performing root‑cause analysis and long‑term remediation.
• Develop, enforce and maintain security policies, standards and best practices.
• Lead vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and security audits.
• Design secure network architectures, including firewalls, IDS/IPS and zero‑trust frameworks.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
• Evaluate and deploy security solutions for endpoints, servers and cloud environments.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR and other relevant frameworks.
• Educate internal teams on security best practices and promote a security‑first culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in cyber or information security engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
• Proficiency in English (B2 level or higher).
• Knowledge of security standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST and CIS.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, Security+, AWS Security Specialty) are a plus.

Required skills

• Network and application security, firewalls, encryption, authentication and access control.
• SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners and endpoint protection solutions.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS or other major cloud providers.
• Container security (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevSecOps practices.
• Scripting/automation with Python, Bash or PowerShell.
