Controller – SaaS Subscription Finance

About the role

SuperSummary is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Controller to become the financial backbone of our fast‑growing SaaS education platform. Reporting to the CEO and partnering with the VP of Operations, you will own the end‑to‑end accounting function while shaping budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process, delivering accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cash‑flow statements.
• Manage revenue recognition under ASC 606/IFRS 15, including deferred revenue, chargebacks, cancellations, and prior‑period adjustments.
• Oversee subscription billing operations in ChargeBee and Stripe, ensuring seamless data flow into the general ledger.
• Supervise the bookkeeper and maintain audit‑ready records.
• Build and maintain rolling forecasts, budgets, and KPI dashboards (MRR, ARR, churn, LTV, CAC).
• Prepare leadership reports and variance analyses for the executive team.
• Evaluate, automate, and modernize financial tools and workflows, including AI‑assisted reconciliation.

Required profile

• Proven experience building or running the accounting function at a SaaS or subscription‑based business.
• Comfortable closing books and developing forecasts in a fast‑paced environment.
• Deep understanding of consumer subscription economics and related metrics.
• Desire to contribute strategically, not just maintain spreadsheets.
