Contracts Advisor – Category Specialist

About the role

The Contracts Advisor – Category Specialist will join Chevron's Supply Chain Management team in the Buenos Aires Shared Services Center. The role focuses on developing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of contracts while supporting category management initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support contracting requests for multiple Chevron operating companies.
• Develop annual Category and Contracting Plans, set cost‑improvement targets, and identify opportunities with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Align services with business and asset plans to optimize timing and support levels.
• Monitor plan execution throughout the contract lifecycle, including improvements, modifications, and renewals.
• Track cost‑savings regularly and report to stakeholders through meetings and formal monthly reports.
• Review, analyze, redline, and prepare contracts, amendments, and statements of work.
• Negotiate contracts with new and existing suppliers and collaborate with legal counsel on reviews.
• Participate in BU and Global Category Team networks to promote best practices and technology improvements.

Required profile

• Experience in contracting and/or category management, including creating, renewing, and negotiating contracts.
• Ability to conduct technical and commercial analyses to secure optimal service conditions.
• Experience handling supplier relations, portfolio rationalization, and consolidation (preferred).
• Strong understanding of business drivers and capability to develop execution plans.
• Proven use of tools and processes to evaluate multiple solution options.
• Critical thinking applied to complex contracts and practical application of contracting principles.
• Effective collaboration with business stakeholders and category teams.
