Cloud DevOps & Technical Operations Engineer

About the role

Monks is looking for a Cloud DevOps & Technical Operations Engineer to join its growing engineering team. The role acts as the throughput engine of the delivery team: 70% of the time is spent on CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation and enterprise system integration, while 30% covers technical operations such as access control, security assessments and compliance workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments on Google Cloud Platform
• Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform for multi-tenant and single-tenant environments
• Integrate localized applications and workflows with shared enterprise systems
• Maintain enterprise-grade systems for high availability, reliable scaling and performance
• Manage core Google Cloud services including App Engine, Agent Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage/Firestore, Pub/Sub and Cloud Build
• Optimize runtimes (Python, Go, TypeScript) and secure application frameworks
• Coordinate client security reviews, vendor security assessments and launch compliance gates
• Provision API keys, monitor AI policy compliance and maintain approved AI tool registries
• Manage team access controls, repository permissions and Google Cloud IAM roles
• Run and document performance, compliance and accessibility audits in staging before production release
• Work with client liaisons and project managers to streamline code reviews and deployment approvals

Required profile

• Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification (active)
• 3-5+ years in a DevOps, Site Reliability or Systems Engineering role in a cloud-native environment
• Track record maintaining enterprise-grade systems with high availability and security requirements
• Hands-on experience deploying services on App Engine standard/flexible environments
• Understanding of or exposure to Agent Engine architectures and AI agent setups
• Experience configuring cloud security controls such as Identity-Aware Proxy, Web Security Scanners and HTTPS enforcement
• Strong organization, documentation and process hygiene

Required skills

• Terraform and automated CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI)
• Python or Bash scripting, and familiarity with TypeScript, Angular or Lit
• Preferred: Google ecosystem experience, knowledge of Google developer tools and launch compliance tools, and WCAG 2.1 AA and performance audit experience
