Chassis Team Leader

About the role

The Chassis Team Leader will oversee structural, mechanical, thermal, and integration aspects of all satellite programs at Satellogic. This strategic position drives innovation, ensures safe integration with launch vehicles, and aligns physical architecture with long‑term space technology goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of spacecraft structural platforms, harness integration, and thermal control systems.
• Innovate to reduce structural and thermal risks while managing mass, center‑of‑gravity and inertia budgets.
• Improve manufacturability by addressing production bottlenecks reported by the manufacturing team.
• Own system‑level harness implementation and ensure reliable inter‑assembly connectivity.
• Coordinate thermal control state‑machine behavior in orbit, meeting functional requirements.
• Define and optimize subsystem interferences in collaboration with system engineers.
• Partner with Purchasing and Production to deliver documentation and support procurement specifications.
• Provide Level 3 support for structural, thermal, or integration issues during assembly or production.
• Develop long‑term technical solutions and coordinate strategic initiatives for safe launch operations.
• Mentor team members and report progress, risks, and value to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in aerospace engineering with multidisciplinary teams.
• 3+ years leading design projects and guiding a team.
• Proven experience in structural design, thermal control, and system‑level integration.
• Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and cross‑functional alignment skills.
• Advanced English proficiency.
