Business Development Manager, Public Sector

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Business Development Manager for the Public Sector in Latin America and the Caribbean. The role focuses on aligning Mastercard’s products, services, and ecosystem with government priorities such as financial inclusion, citizen services, economic development, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of a market government strategy, including prioritized client and solution opportunities, relationship heat maps, revenue forecasts, and an engagement plan.
• Orchestrate Mastercard’s government engagements across non‑commercial, pre‑commercial, and commercial phases, working with national, regional, and local authorities.
• Engage directly on key sales opportunities, assist the country manager, and close strategic deals.
• Develop and execute the market government strategy by understanding local, national, and regional priorities and building a robust project pipeline.
• Interact with senior government stakeholders to influence decisions, uncover new revenue streams, and secure resources for marquee wins.
• Help build a local community of practice and provide first‑line support for country managers, public policy, and account teams.

Required profile

• Experience working with or for government agencies, managing complex technology development programs and transformative change initiatives.
• Strong project‑management background, leading solution‑delivery projects or commercial deals.
• Ability to collaborate with regional and global Mastercard stakeholders.
