Backend Engineer (PHP/Laravel)

About the role

Moveo Technologies Corp. (drvn) is seeking a seasoned Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust web applications using PHP and the Laravel framework. You will play a key part in shaping the software architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and seamless integration with third‑party services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications with PHP/Laravel.
• Participate in defining and improving application architecture for scalability and performance.
• Integrate external APIs and third‑party solutions.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in code and database queries.
• Create and execute unit tests using PHPUnit or Pest.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Conduct code reviews to enforce best practices.
• Document technical specifications and feature implementations.
• Mentor junior developers and foster continuous learning.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional PHP development experience.
• At least 3 years working with Laravel on large‑scale, enterprise projects.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and schema design.
• Proficiency with Git and agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
