Azure Data Engineer – Remote (Latin America)

About the role

Bluelight is seeking an Azure Data Engineer to join a fast‑growing client team. You will design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines that feed analytical data platforms, collaborating closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ETL processes using Python (PySpark) within Azure Synapse Analytics notebooks and pipelines.
• Design and implement data warehousing solutions, applying star‑schema concepts in a Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) SQL pool.
• Extract data from REST APIs, SQL databases, and CSV files.
• Optimize Synapse notebooks and pipelines for scalability and performance.
• Contribute to data‑fabric initiatives such as data lakes, lakehouses, delta lakes, and cataloging.
• Collaborate with data architects to create data models that meet business requirements.
• Implement data quality checks and validation processes.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, tune pipelines, and ensure SLA compliance.
• Monitor ETL jobs, troubleshoot issues, and document solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in ETL data engineering, preferably in a consultancy or client‑facing environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Comfortable in a remote, fast‑paced setting and eager to continuously learn.
