Acquisition Editor – Life Sciences

About the role

JoVE is seeking an ambitious Acquisition Editor to expand its Life Sciences journal portfolio. You will be responsible for attracting new authors, guiding manuscripts through submission, and building special collections that showcase cutting‑edge research.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and recruit new authors, supporting them through the manuscript submission process.
• Contact potential Guest Editors and collaborate to create Methods Collections (special issues).
• Develop and maintain a strong network of scientists and journal authors to increase submission rates.
• Work closely with the peer‑review team to facilitate timely publication of manuscripts.
• Achieve or exceed monthly acquisition targets.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in the Life Sciences.
• Fluent written and verbal English communication.
• Results‑driven with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong organizational, influencing and problem‑solving abilities.
• Familiarity with the publishing process is a plus.
