Accountant – Agricultural Operations

About the role

Carter Pecan is looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to support its pecan orchard operations in Catamarca, Argentina. Based in Greater Buenos Aires, you will handle day‑to‑day accounting, financial reporting, and inventory reconciliation while collaborating with local teams and the U.S. headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, journal entries, and general ledger accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management.
• Support tax preparation and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Perform financial analysis to aid operational decision‑making.
• Oversee inventory accounting, reconcile physical counts, and investigate discrepancies.
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Collaborate with operations, management, and headquarters to improve financial controls and reporting accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
• Experience with inventory management and reconciliation.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
