Vice President, Area Marketing

About the role

The Vice President, Area Marketing will lead Mastercard's marketing agenda across 11 South LAC markets. Reporting to the Divisional VP and dotted to the Regional Marketing EVP, this senior leader will drive business growth through strategic marketing and communications initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Set and execute local marketing strategies—including advertising, promotions, sponsorships, and market research—to align with business priorities.
• Initiate and lead multi‑country projects, balancing stakeholder needs, managing work streams, and overseeing planning and budgeting.
• Make data‑driven decisions and adjust programs based on performance measurement and evaluation.
• Provide direction to Mastercard marketing staff or agency partners on the design and development of promotional materials across print, digital, direct mail, and call‑center channels.
• Account for the local marketing budget, ensuring all campaigns stay within allocated funds.
• Supervise multiple teams, enforce goal‑setting and performance appraisal processes, and coach employees as an organizational resource.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience with overall responsibility for multiple markets.
• Commercial leadership background in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams in Marketing and Communications.
• Track record of creating long‑range, compelling strategies that achieve market growth.
