Telco Field Engineering Director

About the role

Lead the worldwide Telco Field Engineering business at Canonical, helping customers adopt open‑source solutions across public clouds and data centres. You will manage regional teams, drive technical presales, and ensure successful delivery of complex telco cloud projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop managers and field engineers in presales and professional services across APAC, EMEA and AMER.
• Act as a trusted advisor, solving customer problems and promoting Canonical technologies.
• Implement disciplined engineering processes and measure team health indicators.
• Represent the team to stakeholders, partners and customers, and evangelise best engineering practices.
• Collaborate with other leaders to set strategy and achieve quarterly goals.

Required profile

• Strong technical background in telco NFVi, NFVO, VNFM and MEC technologies.
• Experience in technical presales and delivering complex cloud solutions.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop engineering talent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
