Technical Team Leader – DevOps & DevSecOps

About the role

You will lead a technical pod of full‑stack DevOps/DevSecOps engineers while staying hands‑on with code, architecture, and pipelines. This player‑coach position sets technical direction, runs design reviews, and acts as the project manager for the engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end architecture for cloud portal workloads on Azure and GCP, including infrastructure, CI/CD, and application layers.
• Drive systems‑level design, create reusable Terraform, Ansible, and Helm patterns, and define platform conventions.
• Run code and design reviews, set quality standards, and contribute IaC modules, pipeline logic, and application code (40‑60% individual contribution).
• Champion AI‑first development practices, including model‑assisted coding and AI‑generated output review.
• Manage the pod as project manager: sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, status reporting, backlog grooming, release management, and post‑incident reviews.
• Scale the team from 2‑3 to 5‑6 engineers, partner on hiring, and provide mentorship and growth paths.
• Embed security, compliance (FedRAMP, FIPS, CIS, ISO, PCI) and observability standards into all deliveries.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software or platform engineering experience.
• At least 2 years leading a delivery team of 3+ engineers.
• Hands‑on coding experience within the last 12 months.
• Strong project‑management and communication skills.
