Supply Chain Material Planner

About the role

The Supply Chain Material Planner will oversee end‑to‑end material planning to ensure consistent availability of components that support production, operations, and customer delivery. The role focuses on inventory accuracy, process optimisation, and close collaboration with production, procurement, warehouse and other materials management teams.

Key responsibilities

• Execute MRP‑driven material planning, analysing ERP demand data to generate accurate purchase requisitions and orders.
• Manage purchase order adjustments, including cancellations, modifications and creation of rework orders.
• Conduct excess inventory analysis and coordinate with the warehouse to minimise surplus stock.
• Negotiate quick‑buy purchases with suppliers while controlling costs.
• Maintain accurate ERP data for purchase order dates and material status.
• Adjust material schedules with suppliers to accommodate pull‑ins, push‑outs, revisions and cancellations.
• Follow up on material shortages and proactively manage at‑risk deliveries.
• Resolve price, delivery and invoice issues with suppliers to maintain strong relationships.
• Reconcile past‑due invoices and collaborate with accounts payable to streamline financial processes.

Required profile

• Advanced level of English (spoken and written).
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field, plus at least 3 years of supply‑chain experience (or a master’s degree with equivalent experience).
• Familiarity with MRP systems; SAP experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
