Structures Superintendent

About the role

The Structures Superintendent leads on‑site coordination, supervision and execution of all structural work for heavy‑civil and industrial projects. This includes foundations, concrete, formwork, reinforcing steel, structural steel, precast and bridge structures, ensuring safety, schedule, budget and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily structural field operations for self‑perform crews and subcontractors.
• Sequence and install structural systems (excavation support, foundations, formwork, rebar, cast‑in‑place concrete, structural steel, precast) in coordination with other trades.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and approved shop drawings; enforce compliance.
• Oversee concrete placement, formwork inspection, rebar verification, pour planning, finishing and curing.
• Manage material deliveries, staging, crane and rigging plans, and equipment logistics.
• Champion a safety‑first culture, conduct daily huddles, toolbox talks and job hazard analyses.
• Perform quality control inspections, coordinate third‑party testing, verify code compliance and resolve punch‑list items.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising structural work on heavy‑civil or industrial construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety protocols.
• Ability to read and enforce structural drawings, specifications and shop drawings.
• Effective leadership and communication skills for managing crews and subcontractors.
