Staff/Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

We are building systems that help companies understand and control how they appear in AI‑driven search experiences. As a Staff/Senior Backend Engineer you will design, develop, and optimise the core infrastructure that powers real‑time analytics and insights.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop high‑performance backend services supporting AI‑driven analytics.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs for real‑time data retrieval.
• Optimize data processing pipelines handling large‑scale structured and unstructured data.
• Ensure system security, performance, and reliability across the full stack.
• Collaborate closely with front‑end engineers and data scientists to deliver high‑impact features.
• Make key technical decisions balancing speed with long‑term maintainability.

Required profile

• Strong portfolio or GitHub showcasing backend development expertise.
• Proficiency in Python or Rust; Node.js experience is a plus.
• Deep understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and OLAP systems, including query optimisation.
• Experience designing efficient data pipelines and working with distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong grasp of security best practices, API authentication, and performance tuning.
• Comfortable thriving in a fast‑moving startup environment.
