SOC Manager

About the role

The SOC Manager is a hands‑on operations leader responsible for running the day‑to‑day operation of a 24/7 security operations centre for a large US consumer lender. Working from AspenView's secure delivery suites in Bogotá or Buenos Aires, you will lead roughly eighteen analysts and engineers across two cities, three tiers and three shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Own rosters, coverage and handovers across three 8‑hour shifts and two sites, ensuring no shift runs short.
• Lead hiring, onboarding and coaching, building a Tier 1‑to‑Tier 3 career path.
• Enforce secure‑suite rules, including clean‑desk policy and VDI‑only access.
• Track operational performance live (response times, escalation quality, case documentation) and produce daily, weekly and monthly reports from ServiceNow and Elastic data.
• Own the escalation path to partner governance and the client’s security operations team, coordinating with the Incident Response Lead during major incidents.
• Run operational change control for detection rules, playbooks and escalation thresholds with client approval.

Required profile

• Proven experience running or deputy‑running a SOC or 24/7 NOC with security scope against contractual service levels.
• Strong technical judgment to assess investigations in ServiceNow, Elastic or equivalent SIEM.
• Direct people‑management experience, including hiring, performance plans and hard conversations.
• English at B2 level or above; ability to explain metrics to US senior leadership.
• Accountable, structured and audit‑minded mindset; comfortable with documentation and change control.

Required skills

• SIEM & case management: Elastic, Abstract Security, ServiceNow SecOps.
• Endpoint & identity tools: CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender, Okta.
• Reporting: ServiceNow reporting, Power BI or equivalent dashboard tool.
• Automation (bonus): Automation or GenAI tools that reduce analyst toil while preserving audit trails.
