Senior Mobile Engineer

About the role

Avenga is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to lead the migration of an existing Android application to a robust React Native solution for industrial plant operations. You will work on a high‑impact project that combines mobile development, AWS cloud services, and Industrial IoT data streams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute the end‑to‑end migration strategy from Android Kotlin to React Native using a modular architecture (MVVM/Clean Architecture).
• Extend shared data contracts within a Turborepo monorepo to keep cross‑platform specifications unified.
• Build resilient, offline‑first screens for device monitoring, alerts, and data synchronization.
• Integrate REST APIs, JWT/OAuth2, and AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda, Cognito) while optimizing battery usage and network latency.
• Implement mobile hardening, secure token storage, and compliance with industrial security standards.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, CircleCI) and collaborate with QA for shift‑left testing.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional Android development using Kotlin.
• Strong hands‑on experience with React Native, TypeScript, hooks, and state‑management libraries (Redux Toolkit, Zustand or MobX).
• Proven track record of brownfield migrations or modernising legacy mobile apps.
• Solid experience integrating backend services via REST, JWT, OAuth2/OIDC (AWS Cognito a plus).
• Expertise in offline‑first engineering with SQLite, Realm, AsyncStorage or MMKV.
• Experience setting up mobile CI/CD automation and automated testing (Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox/Appium).
