Senior Manager, AML Compliance

About the role

The Senior Manager, AML Compliance will lead Western Union’s AML function across its Argentine entities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and internal standards while supporting innovative digital financial products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of five compliance professionals and act as the primary liaison with Argentine regulators (UIF, BCRA).
• Embed AML and regulatory requirements into the design, launch, and management of digital payments, e‑wallets, crypto assets and other fintech solutions.
• Design, implement and continuously improve the AML compliance program, including policies, procedures, training and reporting frameworks.
• Oversee transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting and the Agent Oversight Program.
• Build strong relationships with Master Agents in Uruguay and Paraguay and drive process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's, compliance certification or related advanced qualification preferred.
• 5+ years of AML/Financial Crime compliance experience in financial services, payments or fintech.
• Minimum 3 years of experience supporting digital financial products and managing AML risks in technology‑enabled environments.
• At least 3 years of people‑leadership experience managing multiple direct reports.
• Fluent English with strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of AML/CTF regulations, KYC/KYA requirements and transaction monitoring.
• Experience with regulatory reporting and compliance program management.
• Proven ability to engage with regulators, senior executives and cross‑functional stakeholders.
