Senior iOS Software Engineer – Remote (Contractor)

About the role

Compass is seeking a senior iOS Software Engineer to join its remote team in Argentina. The role focuses on improving the System Designs framework that powers the iOS application used by more than 20 developers.

Key responsibilities

• Audit the existing System Designs framework and define a roadmap for its redesign.
• Develop new reusable UI components and design‑system assets iteratively.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to integrate the framework across the iOS codebase.
• Mentor junior engineers, enforce best practices, and ensure operational excellence.
• Drive technical decisions, evaluate trade‑offs, and deliver high‑quality solutions on schedule.

Required profile

• Several years of professional iOS development experience, with a track record of leading technical initiatives.
• Strong understanding of modular architecture, design systems, and code quality standards.
• Ability to work autonomously in a startup‑like, agile environment.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders and guide junior team members.

Required skills

• iOS development (Swift and/or Objective‑C).
• Experience building and maintaining design‑system frameworks.
• Proficiency with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with agile development processes.
