Senior Cloud‑Native Java Engineer

About the role

Avenga is seeking a Senior Cloud‑Native Java Engineer to design and build scalable backend solutions for the FinTech sector. The position is hybrid, based in Buenos Aires, with three days a week on‑site at the client’s office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop cloud‑native backend applications using Java 17+, Quarkus and Spring Boot.
• Design, implement and maintain microservices and enterprise integration components for banking and FinTech platforms.
• Create and manage REST APIs, API‑Gateway configurations and services aligned with Open Banking and Banking‑as‑a‑Service concepts.
• Implement asynchronous, event‑driven communication using Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Deploy, monitor and operate containerised applications on Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable, automated software delivery.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience with Java 17+ and modern frameworks such as Quarkus and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems and enterprise integration.
• Hands‑on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift) and Docker.
• Practical knowledge of messaging platforms like Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with API‑Gateway patterns and API‑Economy principles.
• Understanding of Open Banking and BaaS concepts in a financial‑technology context.
