Senior Bazel Engineer

About the role

Tweag is looking for a Senior Bazel Engineer to join its Scalable Builds department. The role is fully remote and focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing build infrastructure for large‑scale software projects while working directly with clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Bazel‑based build pipelines for complex, multi‑language codebases.
• Optimize build performance, reliability, and developer productivity.
• Collaborate with client engineering teams to tailor solutions to their specific needs.
• Contribute to open‑source Bazel projects and help shape the ecosystem.
• Provide technical guidance and present solutions clearly to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Bazel and modern build systems.
• Senior‑level software engineering background.
• Deep understanding of build system architecture, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Experience with CI/CD environments and developer productivity tooling.
• Consultant mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed team.
