Senior Backend PHP Engineer

About the role

Crewfare is building the platform that powers travel logistics for major events worldwide. As a Senior Backend PHP Engineer you will own the most critical parts of the booking system, ensuring correctness, concurrency and reliability at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain high‑stakes workloads such as event on‑sales and room‑block inventory handling.
• Implement and oversee multi‑currency payment flows across Stripe, Braintree, Authorize.net and Adyen.
• Guarantee reporting and inventory integrity across dashboards, exports and internal reports.
• Manage multi‑tenant data migrations, schema consistency and tenant‑specific database prefixes.
• Integrate with hotel suppliers, SSO providers and PII vaulting services, handling edge‑case scenarios.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, N+1 queries, cache invalidation and slow‑query issues.

Required profile

• Senior‑level backend engineer with a strong focus on data integrity and reliability.
• Proven ability to work autonomously on complex architecture decisions.
• Experience delivering production‑grade features in a fast‑moving, remote environment.

Required skills

• PHP (PSR‑4, Composer, PHPUnit)
• MySQL / MariaDB (RDS), multi‑tenant schema design
• Redis (caching, distributed locks)
• AWS services: EC2, SSM, RDS, ALB, multi‑account setup
• Payment gateways: Stripe, Braintree, Authorize.net, Adyen
• SSO protocols: SAML, Okta, WorkOS
• Skyflow for PII/card vaulting
• Twig, dompdf, SES for email/PDF generation
• React + TypeScript (admin SPA) – optional
