Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Drive the evolution of our backend technology, infrastructure, and AI capabilities to ensure high performance, scalability, and seamless integration for our mobile applications. You will work closely with the CTO and a small, ambitious team to build the foundations, present, and future of our backend systems.

Key responsibilities

• Work side‑by‑side with the CTO to design and implement core backend and AI systems.
• Develop and enhance backend services for existing and new mobile applications.
• Contribute to systems design, infrastructure planning, CI/CD pipelines, and data workflows.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience building high‑performance, scalable backend systems used by millions.
• Proven expertise in backend languages such as Kotlin, Java, Go, or Python.
• Strong understanding of database design, optimization, and cloud services (AWS, Supabase, Cloudflare).
• Experience with monitoring tools like New Relic or Datadog and a data‑driven mindset.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English and thrive in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment.
