Senior Accountant – Hospitality Industry

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to support its fast‑growing portfolio of hospitality clients. The role is client‑facing and requires ownership of month‑end and year‑end processes, balance‑sheet optimization, and the delivery of accurate financial reporting in line with US GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Drive month‑end and year‑end close, preparing P&L and Balance Sheet statements on strict deadlines.
• Streamline balance‑sheet reconciliation as client volume increases.
• Manage journal entries, reporting, and reconciliations across multiple properties or client accounts.
• Integrate hospitality and accounting platforms (e.g., Opera, Acumatica) to process daily financial data.
• Identify workflow improvements, strengthen internal controls, and provide clear service to client stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, property accounting, or outsourced accounting services.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, journal entries, and full‑cycle reconciliations.
• Experience with hospitality systems such as Opera, Sertifi, or Toast.
• Familiarity with Acumatica, Ottimate, or ProfitSword is a plus.
• Self‑starter with high accountability, able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
