Remote Accounting Manager / Controller for E‑Commerce Clients

About the role

We are seeking a remote Accounting Manager (Controller) to provide timely and accurate accounting services for a portfolio of e‑commerce clients. The role involves onboarding new clients, managing system conversions, and integrating various SaaS platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closes for multiple client accounts and prepare periodic financial statements.
• Oversee client accounting operations including AP, AR, cash management, payroll, tax, inventory control, and general ledger.
• Prepare periodic accruals and journal entries for depreciation, amortization, pre‑payments, payroll, taxes, insurance, and other adjustments.
• Follow and help develop standard operating procedures to ensure GAAP compliance and consistency across clients.
• Manage and mentor junior team members, providing clear day‑to‑day operating procedures.
• Liaise with clients to resolve accounting questions and handle ad‑hoc queries.
• Support client onboarding and implementation/integration of accounting, CRM, MRP, ERP, and e‑commerce SaaS systems.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• At least 2 + years experience in e‑commerce, manufacturing, or distribution, or 5 + years in accounting.
• Experience at a Big Four accounting firm or in a client‑service role within an accounting/consulting firm.
• Minimum 2 + years professional experience using QuickBooks and NetSuite across multiple clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred).
• CPA certification (nice to have).
• Familiarity with inventory accounting processes and best practices.
