Middle Android Engineer

About the role

Avenga is looking for a Middle Android Engineer in Argentina to design and scale native mobile applications using modern Kotlin technologies and AI‑powered development tools. The role involves working on complex, multi‑module architectures to deliver resilient, high‑quality Android solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain native Android components with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Build scalable, decoupled multi‑module applications following Clean Architecture and Google best practices.
• Integrate RESTful services efficiently using Retrofit and OkHttp.
• Write comprehensive unit tests and enforce code quality through static analysis and code reviews.
• Configure Gradle builds and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Bitrise) for continuous deployment.
• Leverage AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor to accelerate development and testing.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, conduct app profiling, and ensure optimal memory management.

Required profile

• Native proficiency in Kotlin, including Coroutines and Flow.
• Deep experience building declarative UI with Jetpack Compose.
• Strong expertise in MVVM/MVI patterns, Clean Architecture, and multi‑module project structures.
• Proven experience with Dagger Hilt for dependency injection.
• Solid background integrating REST APIs using Retrofit and OkHttp.
• Hands‑on experience with unit testing (JUnit, MockK) and static analysis tools (ktlint, Detekt, SonarQube, JaCoCo).
• Proficient in Git workflows, Gradle configuration, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical use of AI‑powered development tools to improve coding efficiency.
• Autonomous mindset with ability to deliver complex features end‑to‑end.
