Medical Scheduler

About the role

The Scheduler is a key member of the Front Desk Team, responsible for coordinating 30‑50 surgical cases each day. This role works closely with multiple physicians and referring doctors to ensure every patient’s appointment, paperwork, and pre‑certification are completed accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Counsel patients and schedule surgeries for several physicians.
• Coordinate with primary‑care offices to verify that histories and physicals are completed before surgery.
• Prepare all required paperwork for each scheduled procedure.
• Pre‑certify procedures that need prior authorization.
• Provide backup support to the Front Office as needed.
• Perform other duties related to patient scheduling and office workflow.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience scheduling appointments or surgeries.
• Familiarity with insurance processes and medical office operations.
• Knowledge of clinic policies, managed‑care contracts, and utilization guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with scheduling software.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
• Experience using spreadsheet applications.
