Manager of Software Engineering - Databricks & SQL

About the role

Join JPMorgan Chase’s EMEA Last Mile Regulatory Reporting team as a Manager of Software Engineering. You will lead a group of engineers, drive the delivery of critical reporting applications, and ensure compliance with regulatory and business standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day guidance to a team of software engineers.
• Set expectations for output, best practices, and collaboration.
• Anticipate cross‑team dependencies to meet product and application requirements.
• Manage stakeholder relationships while adhering to compliance, SLA, and business rules.
• Design and implement creative software solutions, troubleshoot complex technical problems, and promote innovative approaches.
• Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect within the team.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of applied experience.
• Proven experience leading technology projects and managing technologists.
• Hands‑on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Deep understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• In‑depth knowledge of financial services IT systems.
• Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, SQL) and databases.
• Practical cloud‑native experience, especially with AWS and Databricks.
