Maintenance Leader – Plant Operations

About the role

The Maintenance Leader is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities at Greif’s San Juan plant, ensuring that equipment, machines and critical systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably. This role drives preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs, supports Lean/OPEX initiatives and builds a high‑performing maintenance team aligned with TPM and TPS principles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Establish and support autonomous maintenance initiatives.
• Lead maintenance activities that align with Lean/OPEX goals and improve plant performance.
• Conduct technical analysis to optimise machine performance and maintenance plans.
• Manage supplier and service provider contracts with focus on cost and quality.
• Track execution of preventive maintenance plans and ensure follow‑through by the team.
• Resolve technical issues directly or through external vendors.
• Implement technical improvements related to safety, quality, operations and production efficiency.
• Review maintenance KPIs monthly and lead corrective action plans.
• Lead, develop and evaluate the maintenance team.
• Manage critical and non‑critical spare parts to minimise downtime.
• Supervise lockout/tagout activities for equipment interventions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in the management system.
• Reduce mold and model changeover time on blow‑molding and injection equipment using SMED principles.
• Ensure a safe, clean and organised work environment.

Required profile

• Advanced or completed university degree in engineering or a related field.
