Lighting Technician – Cruise Ship (6‑month rotation)

About the role

Join a renowned cruise line as a Lighting Technician, responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining lighting, show control, and fog/haze systems for a variety of onboard events. The position follows a 6‑month on‑board rotation with 2 months off.

Key responsibilities

• Program, operate, and maintain lighting, show control, and fog systems for rehearsals, shows, and events.
• Collaborate with guest entertainers and production teams to meet lighting requirements.
• Set up, position, and strike lighting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform regular maintenance, manage spare lamps and consumables, and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure the artistic vision of producers and directors is reflected in the lighting design.
• Coordinate with shoreside support for technical needs and equipment purchases.
• Provide handover notes and participate in required training at contract end.

Required profile

• Experience in programming and operating live‑performance lighting.
• Knowledge of show control systems and lighting control consoles.
• Basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills for lighting fixtures.
• Background in musical theatre or similar live‑entertainment environments.
• Technical school education preferred.
• Proficiency in English for communication and manual interpretation.
