Level Designer

About the role

Nimble Giant Entertainment is seeking a full‑time Level Designer to join its Buenos Aires studio. The position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring two days per week onsite, and works closely with environment artists, technical artists, systems and content designers to create immersive game environments.

Key responsibilities

• Create level layouts, hotspots and points of interest that align with the game’s themes, lore and gameplay constraints.
• Prototype environments, establish layouts and suggest interactive and non‑interactive elements to evoke desired emotions.
• Integrate new gameplay, AI, sound and other assets into maps as the project evolves.
• Develop design documentation for level flow, layouts and 3D block‑outs for in‑engine playtesting.
• Produce playtest data and requirements to support QA validation before level approval.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of level design experience for PC/console with at least one shipped title or strong playable prototypes.
• Portfolio demonstrating first‑person combat spaces, exploration routes and clear player flow.
• Strong understanding of AI paths, cover, sightlines and traversal options.
• Ability to embed narrative and world‑building through layout, composition and micro‑stories.
• Comfortable iterating based on playtests, feedback and changing direction.
• Passion for designing grounded, atmospheric, interconnected environments such as tunnels, corridors, ruined structures and urban layouts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Unreal Engine tools from block‑out to final implementation.
• Experience with visual scripting, particularly Unreal Engine Blueprints.
• Ability to work with metrics and simple scripting within the engine.
