Lead Android Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Android Engineer to drive the development of a next‑generation native Android application within a large, sophisticated retail portal. You will shape architecture, mentor the Android team and collaborate across iOS, Mobile Web and Desktop streams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and support a high‑performance native Android app.
• Contribute to architecture and implement new features for a complex mobile portal.
• Integrate third‑party libraries, services and components.
• Ensure compliance with Android design patterns, coding conventions and Google Play policies.
• Optimize networking, local data caching and multitasking performance.
• Work in Agile squads with local and remote members.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship and cross‑functional partnership.

Required profile

• 5+ years of Android development experience.
• At least 1 year of leadership or team‑lead experience.
• Strong command of Java, Android app components and UI frameworks.
• Proficiency with Android development tools and workflows.
• Deep understanding of Android design patterns and Google Play Developer Program policies.
• Experience with networking, caching and multitasking on Android.
• Familiarity with third‑party libraries and services.
• Comfortable using AI‑assisted coding tools.
• Effective communication in English (minimum B2 level).
