Java Android Developer – Latin America

About the role

We are looking for a Java Android Developer to design, build, and maintain native Android applications for the Latin American market. You will work closely with product and backend teams to deliver high‑quality, performant mobile experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native Android apps using Java, following platform conventions.
• Create intuitive, accessible UI based on Material Design, using XML layouts or Jetpack Compose.
• Integrate RESTful back‑end services with Retrofit and OkHttp, handling errors and offline scenarios.
• Manage local data storage with Room, SQLite, or SharedPreferences, including migrations.
• Implement push notifications, analytics, and crash reporting via Firebase services (FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics).
• Write unit and instrumented tests with JUnit, Espresso, and Mockito.
• Profile and optimise app performance, focusing on battery usage, memory consumption, and smooth UI rendering.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional native Android development in Java with published apps or equivalent projects.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Android Studio, and Gradle build system.
• Hands‑on experience with Jetpack libraries such as ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation, and WorkManager.
• Proficiency integrating REST APIs using Retrofit and OkHttp.
• Experience with local persistence (Room/SQLite) and Firebase services.
• Fluency in English and Russian.
