About the role

Hitachi, Ltd. is looking for a highly motivated Senior Proposal Engineer to create compelling, technically sound proposals for complex engineering projects. You will work closely with sales, technical, and commercial teams to turn client requirements into winning solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of comprehensive technical and commercial proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs and Hitachi capabilities.
• Analyze RFPs, ITBs and other client documentation to extract key specifications and commercial terms.
• Develop innovative, cost‑effective technical solutions in partnership with engineering, product and R&D teams.
• Estimate project costs, define scope of work, and articulate value propositions for Hitachi’s offerings.
• Prepare detailed technical descriptions, project schedules and resource plans for inclusion in proposals.
• Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to prospective clients.
• Negotiate technical and commercial aspects of proposals to secure project awards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of proposal generation processes and tools.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities and emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in proposal generation, technical sales or project engineering within energy, infrastructure or manufacturing sectors.
• Proven track record of winning complex engineering projects through effective proposals.
• Strong technical knowledge of Hitachi products such as power systems, industrial automation, transportation and IT solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Proficiency with proposal management software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
