Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees daily operations across accommodation, pool, public, crew, and other designated areas, ensuring standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are consistently met. Reporting to the Assistant Housekeeping Manager and Housekeeping Manager, this role provides strong leadership to a team of at least ten employees.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate housekeeping activities in assigned zones, maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Supervise, train, and schedule a team of housekeeping staff, ensuring coverage for day and night shifts.
• Monitor and enforce proper use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective gear.
• Conduct inspections, address guest concerns, and ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures.
• Utilize hotel management software to track work orders, inventory, and performance metrics.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of supervisory experience in a large 4‑ or 5‑star hotel (500+ rooms), cruise line, or comparable hospitality setting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team of at least ten employees.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and safety protocols.
• Good command of English; additional languages such as Spanish are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using hospitality software packages (e.g., SQM, OCIMS, Fidelio, LGA, Medallia, Kronos).
