Hotel Industry Accountant – Financial Reporting & Reconciliations

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to support financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month‑end close for its portfolio of hospitality clients. You will work in a fast‑paced, multi‑client environment, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily accounting tasks, prepare journal entries, and support month‑end close to meet client deadlines.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity by cleaning up and resolving reconciling items across multiple accounts.
• Master specialized hospitality platforms and ERP tools (e.g., Opera, POS systems, Ottimate, Acumatica, ProfitSword) to perform independent account work.
• Follow standardized processes to deliver consistent, accurate, and responsive client service.

Required profile

• 1–3+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, property management, or outsourced accounting.
• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close cycles.
• Familiarity with hotel operations and revenue cycles; experience with hospitality systems is a plus.
• Highly organized, detail‑focused, able to work independently and communicate clearly with internal teams and clients.
