Health Care Aide – Urgent Care (Evenings/Weekends)

About the role

The Health Care Aide (HCA) will join the Urgent Care team at Concordia Hospital, providing essential supportive care to patients under the supervision of registered nurses. This part‑time position works evenings and weekends, offering a fast‑paced environment where compassionate assistance makes a direct impact on patient wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Assist RNs, RPNs, and LPNs with daily patient care activities in the urgent‑care setting.
• Provide basic supportive care such as bathing, feeding, mobility assistance, and vital‑sign monitoring.
• Document care activities accurately and communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, adhering to infection‑control protocols.
• Support the team during emergencies by following CPR and BCLS procedures.

Required profile

• Recent patient‑care experience (within the past four years) or equivalent background.
• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized college or educational institution.
• Current CPR certification and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, with annual recertification required.

Required skills

• CPR certification.
