Hardware Design Engineer – Satellite Electronics

About the role

Satellogic is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to join its Electronics team. The role focuses on designing, validating and delivering electronic hardware for the company’s Earth‑observation satellites, working from Buenos Aires with occasional travel to the Montevideo plant.

Key responsibilities

• Implement aerospace hardware devices from low‑level requirements.
• Design and document electronic assemblies, PCBs and harnesses for satellite payloads.
• Collaborate with PCB manufacturers during prototyping and production.
• Develop hardware validation procedures and write test code for prototypes.
• Review PCB designs for manufacturability and space‑flight qualification.
• Identify and apply design improvements to enhance performance and manufacturability.
• Monitor emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions for satellite systems.
• Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of team design guidelines.

Required profile

• Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in high‑tech hardware design.
• Proven experience in testing and debugging hardware devices.
• Ability to travel to plant facilities as needed.

Required skills

• Altium Designer (or comparable PCB layout software).
• Design of digital and mixed‑signal circuits.
• High‑speed multi‑layer PCB routing (LVDS, PCI‑Express, USB, Ethernet).
• Basic programming for hardware test automation.
• Hardware validation and qualification procedures.
