Freelance Print Graphic Designer

About the role

WPP Production is seeking a Freelance Print Graphic Designer (Mechanical Artist) to create print‑ready mechanicals for global clients. You will work within a fast‑paced, collaborative studio, delivering high‑quality layouts that meet strict brand and production standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Studio Project Managers and Senior Mechanical Artists to implement content across a variety of mechanicals.
• Produce accurate, print‑ready layouts and provide multiple design solutions when required.
• Manage a high‑volume workload while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
• Complete checklists for each task to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Create and update mechanical templates with new specifications.
• Maintain strict server structure, file‑naming conventions, and archiving processes.
• Perform quality‑control checks on own and peer work.
• Uphold client confidentiality and document any issues for consistency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of workflows.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical production, print design, or related technology.
• BA in Graphic Design, Print Media or equivalent; pre‑press background a plus.
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat); Photoshop proficiency a plus.
• Proactive attitude with strong self‑improvement drive.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work both independently and within a team.
