Food Service Supervisor

About the role

The Food Service Supervisor supports the Site Manager of Food Services at Concordia Hospital by ensuring high‑quality, safe, and efficient food operations across all service areas. This position plays a key role in planning, supervising staff, managing procurement, and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily food service activities, ensuring proper staffing and workflow.
• Supervise food service areas, monitor food temperatures, storage, and transportation to meet safety standards.
• Oversee procurement of food products and manage inventory control.
• Participate in Quality Improvement programs and implement corrective actions.
• Train, evaluate, and coach food service employees, including ware‑washing staff.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and proper chemical usage.

Required profile

• Minimum high school education meeting Manitoba standards.
• At least two years of supervisory experience, preferably in a hospital or long‑term care setting.
• Experience with payroll and staff scheduling in a unionized environment.
• Previous food‑service experience.

Required skills

• Familiarity with CBORD (considered an asset).
