Family Physician – Shared Practice in Nelson, BC

About the role

We are seeking a Family Physician to join a collaborative, flexible primary‑care practice in Nelson, British Columbia. The role blends rural family medicine with longitudinal primary care, shared inpatient duties, and a rotating Doctor‑of‑the‑Day hospital schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary‑care services to a shared patient panel.
• Participate in shared inpatient coverage at Kootenay Lake Hospital (1–5 inpatient days per 12‑week rotation).
• Take part in the Doctor‑of‑the‑Day on‑call schedule.
• Offer virtual care services, including optional remote clinic days.
• Contribute to a functional‑medicine clinic up to twice weekly, if desired.
• Collaborate with a fellow physician on scheduling, cross‑coverage, and vacation planning.

Required profile

• Licensed to practice medicine in British Columbia.
• Family medicine training and experience.
• Interest in a practice‑share environment with one other physician.
• Willingness to work part‑time (0.5–0.8 FTE) or full‑time, with flexible scheduling.
• Desire for leadership involvement and optional functional‑medicine focus.
